When I started running and what got me started:
In college a mentor ran a marathon. I watched him do it and decided to join him the next year. Four marathons later, I guess I got addicted.
What does running mean to me:
Peace of mind
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The beauty of God's creation.
Favorite running trail and why:
Santa Fe trail in the Air Force Academy. It is very relaxing and beautiful.
Best running experience:
A 10-mile training run out on Meridian Road.
Worst running experience:
My third marathon ... I cramped up at mile 15.6 and was too stubborn to quit.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Seeing a buck cross the road ahead of me on a run and then saying hello to him again on my way back.
Running related bathroom stop story:
I once ate a western bacon cheese burger before a three-mile run. It didn't taste as good the second time, but the last mile I felt great.
Running pet peeves:
Being passed toward the end of my race.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
My wife sometimes thinks I like my dog better than her, but she is wrong.
Other hobbies and interests:
Kayaking, camping, snowboarding and sleeping.
