"Are you feeling the altitude yet?" "I can't feel ANYTHING!"

City: Colorado Springs State: CO

Favorite Shoe: Brooks Size: 11

Age: 50.6 years old

Marital Status: married

What I do for work:
software stuff

Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Myrtle Beach, San Antonio, Rochester (NY), Melbourne (FL), Colorado Springs. No better place than Colorado. 300 days of sunshine and mountains.

When I started running and what got me started:
I was one of the fastest kids in school and was recruited to come run with them. I didn't know then that my skinny lanky frame was actually beneficial to something. Now I want it back. haha

What does running mean to me:
It's my break from the day-to-day run-around. Everything melts away when you're running.

Running accomplishments: View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Completed the PP Ascent 4 times with each time getting faster. Working towards my first marathon finish.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
I enjoy the mental sharpness that's required and the changing scenery. You have to focus on the trail and your form instead of falling into the drudgery of a paved route.

Favorite running trail and why:
Barr Trail. I love the rush of finishing the Ws and the feeling of really gaining some speed when you get past them.

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Barr Trail Mountain Race. It's so well run with such great enthusiasm from the volunteers. And it's on my favorite course without being killed by the altitude.

Best running experience:
The first stride each time I go running.

Worst running experience:
Crashed out of the 2007 PP Marathon at mile marker 26 due to heat stroke. I crossed the finish line in the back of an ambulance.

Running pet peeves:
Garbage on the trail.
