When I started running and what got me started:
I started in 1999, I felt challenged.
What does running mean to me:
I feel I would first explode then fall apart if I did not run. I like good food too much. Running also means a little time for myself, which is precious when two little toddlers keep you very busy the rest of the time.
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
I ran a number of 1/2 marathons, the Chicago marathon, the Imogene Pass run, the Leadville Trail Marathon and the Pikes Peak marathon. I am most proud of my 2005 Pikes Peak marathon result.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
no cars, clean air, scenery, the added challenge of the terrain
Favorite running trail and why:
Barr trail for proximity and scenery
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pikes Peak ascent and marathon, but of course!!
Best running experience:
Indianapolis 500 festival half marathon in 2003. Incredible how much it means to train at high elevation for a low elevation race. I felt like I would never run out of energy.
Worst running experience:
Same race in 2000, while I was still living there. I got dehydrated, and almost quit.
Other hobbies and interests:
Hiking 14ers, backpacking, fishing, traveling, cooking, guitar playing and Frank Zappa.
