What I do for work:
I am an electrical engineer for Honeywell Aerospace. We manage all of the ground antennas for the Air Force Sat Comm Systems.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I grew up in Pueblo and came to Co Springs for college. I love it here because there is always something to do, whether that be going camping in the mountains or going to a local brewery.
When I started running and what got me started:
I have always been an athlete, but I just started running about 3 years ago as a stress reliever and a way to keep in shape. I started loving the personal challenge of it, so I made it a habit.
What does running mean to me:
Running has become a way for me to escape the stress of my world, and a way for me to continually challenge myself physically and mentally. It has become a bit of an addiction :)
Running accomplishments:
Nothing crazy, most of my accomplishments are yet to come. This is the first year I have ever entered into any races, and I am training for my first marathon in October (Denver Rock and Roll!)
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I like to escape from the city streets and sidewalks. The trails are never boring, and always offer great scenery.
Favorite running trail and why:
I recently ran the Summer Roundup and I fell in love with the Bear Creek Park trails. It was a great combination of beauty and difficulty with the great hills.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I absolutely loved the Tough Mudder. Running on a gorgeous mountain at 11k feet with crazy obstacles. It was heaven, even with all the cuts and scrapes.
Best running experience:
I absolutely had a great time at the Bolder Boulder. My friends, the runners, the spectators, music, costumes. It was a blast.
Worst running experience:
First day back after a month in England. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!
Running pet peeves:
Slow people taking up the entire trail/sidewalk. They know you are coming. I am going to start running over them one of these days.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
Probably that I am a huge nerd. I don't look like a stereotypical engineer, but I definitely am one at heart.
Other hobbies and interests:
camping, fishing, basketball (or any other sport), my art, reading, movies, off-roading, brewing beer
