Steve Mischel - Woo hoo!
Woo hoo!

City: Colorado Springs State: CO

Favorite Shoe: New Balance 904 Size: 12

Age: 48.8 years old

Marital Status: Single

Family members:
My fiance Lenox. Parents (Joe and Fran) two older brothers (Dave and James) live in Seattle.

Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Seattle is my home town and the only other place I've lived prior to moving to the Springs. The weather, the Incline club, the beautiful scenery, and the clean air are some of the top reasons why I like to live here.

When I started running and what got me started:
Before I began my running "career" I considered it to be a monotonous and boring sport and why would you want to kill your joints? How uninformed I was. I started in January of 2001 on the Manitou Incline. I timed myself from bottom to top and that's what got the ball rolling for me. Heck, since I was writhing in pain doing the Incline, why not take it to the next level and train for the PPA.

What does running mean to me:
Running is a constant learning experience for me, I can find many parallels in it that help me to excel in other areas of my life (business, relationships, etc).

Running accomplishments: View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Not much yet, PPA, PPM, and the Seattle Marathon

What I like about trail/mountain running:
The constant changes of terrain and scenery are what keep me interested. The challenges that running mountains present keep me coming back for more.

Favorite running trail and why:
Barr Trail is my favorite because of its close proximity to home and the extreme change in elevation.

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
So far the PPA/PPM because it's really the only trail/mountain race I've entered.

Best running experience:
PPA in 2001 because it was the first race I've competed in and the sense of accomplishment I experienced.

Worst running experience:
Seattle Marathon in 2001 because it rained during the majority of the race and I wasn't ready to take all of the pounding running on pavement. I could hardly walk for nearly a week.

Neatest thing found on a run:
$5 bill

Running related bathroom stop story:
Fortunately nothing exciting yet but I know I'm running on borrowed time!

Running pet peeves:
Not having a lot of time to run!

Other hobbies and interests:
Mountain biking, snow-shoeing, snowboarding, traveling, investing.
