What I do for work:
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I grew up in Houston, Texas. We love living here because we spend most of our free time enjoying all outdoor sports and activities. Colorado Springs is a giant playground! Great quality of life. Very active community. Wonderful place to raise kids. Good opportunities for my husband to be successful with his work. Plus, we have family here.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in 3rd grade. My father bought my sister and I a pair of black and white track shoes, signed us up for a track meet, and fed us a piece of Hershey bar on the starting line. I ran the 330 yard and she ran the 220.
What does running mean to me:
It means everything to me. It is MY time. My salvation. It makes me feel at peace. It gives me time to think about things, organize my thoughts and feelings. It makes me feel good. It is one thing I feel that I can control in this crazy world!

What I like about trail/mountain running:
No trail run is ever boring or the same. It's quiet. No traffic. Plus, I like pushing the physical limits within myself.. (with the steep uphill) then feeling some relief (on the down and flat) , then doing it all over again.
Favorite running trail and why:
Since moving to the Springs 2 months ago, I think Section 16 is my favorite.
Running pet peeves:
When you're running with someone (or a group) and someone complains.
