Family members:
My significant other - Chris. He thinks I'm crazy because I love running marathons and I don't always train (I'm working on that part). And I also have my mini me and best little friend, Mackenzie. She's 7 years old and acts like me... I'm in so much trouble when she gets older. M
What I do for work:
Support the military
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I have only lived in Colorado for 6 months but I love it! There's always something to do and the people here are a lot nicer than the people where I just came from, Maryland. I never considered it home, even though I was there for 11 years. Prior to that, I lived in central Pennsylvania, right near Penn State University.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running cross country when I was in 10th grade. I gave it up for a little bit but really got back into it in 2012 and started helping a former co-worker train for the Baltimore Marathon
What does running mean to me:
Running is freedom: freedom from life's burdens. Everything that does not matter, disappears and nothing matters but the steps and breaths you take. Running is an addiction and it's a way of seeing the entire world one race and adventure at a time. Sometimes it is a challenge and sometimes more challenging than anything else that I've experienced.
Running accomplishments:
I've only trained for 1 marathon, but completed 11 or 12. Eventually, I'd like to do 50 marathons in 50 states, but
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I haven't done a lot of it but it's challenging. I enjoy that.
Favorite running trail and why:
The Barr Trail (cause it's the only one I've done)
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I've only done one trail marathon, which was in Flagstaff in 2016... and I didn't like it because I wasn't trained!
Neatest thing found on a run:
A friend
