Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Indiana, Michigan. LOVE the mountains and the weather of the front range!
When I started running and what got me started:
What does running mean to me:
Depends on the day. But generally it is a time to unwind, let go, and be thankful.
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Continual progress in the triple crown running series. 3 finishes at the Teton 50 mile race. Still trying to break 3hrs for the ascent. Pretty damn close in 2010 at 3:03:13. Maybe in 2011?
What I like about trail/mountain running:
enjoy the pace, views, smells and wildlife much more than sidewalks, buildings, and car exhaust.
Favorite running trail and why:
Deer Creek Canyon (Jefferson County Open Space) Just enough up and down
Worst running experience:
Worst experience and best are one in the same. At the Teton 100 I was unable to finish due to a knee that was locking up, and a mentally drained spirit. At mile 70 I hung in the towel. I still struggle with that decision but feel the lessons learned during that race outweigh the failure of the goal.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
Took 10 years of piano lessons growing up.
Other hobbies and interests:
Running as far as I'm able up 14'ers, skiing, driving the jeep to areas to see if it is really trail rated like they say.
