What I do for work:
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Only called Colorado home.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running to loose weight in 2004. I lost the weight and officially caught the running bug after I completed the Alex Hoag Race for Sunshine 5k the same year. No matter the race I love the feeling I have before the race starts and the feeling after I cross the finish line.
What does running mean to me:
My answer is simple, it keeps me feeling young. The positive effects of running cover all areas of my life.
I completed my first marathon in 2010 and I am looking forward to taking that experience to next level by completing the 2011 Pikes Peak Marathon. My favorite race today is the Garden of the Gods 10M and I hope to PR this year with a sub 80 minute finish.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The focus is less on minutes/mile time and more on having fun or just surviving depending on the trail.
Favorite running trail and why:
I love running on the trails in Palmer Park because of how close it is to my house and the variation in terrain and routes.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I love the fall series of races put on by the PPRR. They are just fun races where you get dirty and can't be to serious about preparation.
Best running experience:
Finishing my first marathon and not just because of the race but because of all the training that went into being ready.
Worst running experience:
All the training that went into being ready for my first marathon.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Running pet peeves:
I like to acknowledge other runners when we pass by eachother so when someone chooses not to say hello I try not to get annoyed.
Other hobbies and interests:
My other passion would be the martial arts. I love to talk running or about Universal Kempo Karate Schools.
