When I was 34 on a lark I ran the Marine Corps Marathon. It turned into a lifelong passion for longing long distance.

View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
I have completed 15 Pikes Peak Marathons, 24 Honolulu Marathons, and I have run a marathon in all 50 states, and 3 continents. I am a member of the 100 marathon club.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I love the sense of accomplishment of completing the Pikes Peak Marathon. Other trail runs include Imogene Pass and Mosquito Pass Marathon.
Favorite running trail and why:
Tantalus loop trail in Hawaii is my favorite trail run. the bamboo forest and incredible vegetation is the best.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I have to say Pikes Peak or Mosquito Marathon in Leadville. I love Pikes Peak for all the excitement and the adrenalin rush finishing in Manitou Springs. Leadville is a unique place with it's own magic. Ken Clouber greets all the runners and makes us feel special. The run around Baldy Mountain is amazing.
Best running experience:
I think my 2nd Pikes Peak was my best run. I finished 21/2 hours better than my first. It was my best day and I felt great. Also, my first NYC marathon was so exciting . I had never seen crowd support like that before.
Worst running experience:
In Pikes Peak I went by a runner who had died. It was very sad.
Neatest thing found on a run:
some great friendships.
Running related bathroom stop story:
IN Florida I went in the bushes and I almost sunk in a swamp.
Running pet peeves:
Runners who have friends on bikes who keep cutting into the race.

I am a quilter and I am an avid reader.
Other stuff:
My goals include running a marathon on all the continents. This summer I am going to South America, and I am running a marathon in the Atacama desert.
