What I do for work:
Graphic Artist, Content Strategist, education, real estate
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Colorado Springs, Boulder, Bristol England, Northern CA, Telluride, Colorado Springs. Have always loved the red earth, the blue sky and the bright snow on Pikes Peak. Inspires me.
When I started running and what got me started:
Ran in GOG as a kid, not really running just trotting about.
What does running mean to me:
Love to trot about, keep in shape so I can handle the boot packs and climbs in the winter.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I have always loved the gullies in the garden of the gods they made my feet adaptable and quick, helps me when I ski. I love the incline especially the Barr trail as it gets dark and it is quiet up there. Like the incline in winter.
Favorite running trail and why:
Probably the gullies in GOG, like the roots, the random rocks, the slippery places where you have to pay attention... and don't get me wrong I am not a "runner", I trot at best. Gets me in shape for ski season.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Not a racer, never have been a competitor. Don't know how fast or far I go. Just love being in nature. Like the feeling of flowing with the earth when I trot.
Best running experience:
So many times when I look about and see the absolute beauty of my surroundings.
Worst running experience:
When I can only drag my sorry butt up to the top of high point and go wow that is as far as I can go today. Usually after some type of injury and the rehab that comes after it. Luckily that has been a while ago.
Neatest thing found on a run:
A horse shoe in the garden of the gods the day I bought my house!! It was totally incredible as there was also a little scroll with it... What are the chances of that?? Must be pretty good cause it happened :)
Running pet peeves:
#2 on the trail... really please... take the time cover/bury it for gods sake the rest of us and the animals do not want to see it. There is no janitor up there in the mountains.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I love creativity.
Other hobbies and interests:
Art, travel, Computer Graphics, Content Strategy, education, skiing, hiking, camping, yoga, meditation, etc.
