When I started running and what got me started:
Played sports (soccer and lacrosse) all the way through college at a Varsity level. After college, I used running as a means to stay in shape.
What does running mean to me:
It is a great outlet that allows me to keenly body healthy and chase my kids!
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I love being surrounded by nature. Trail running is physically easier on my body and mentally a great escape.
Favorite running trail and why:
Brinns Mesa in Sedona. It is challenging but beautiful. I love the change in elevation and scenery along the trail and it has a sentimental personal meaning as well.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I am a newbie at racing but have signed up for a few races this year!
Best running experience:
Trail running in Sedona after a rainfall, early in the morning. All the footprints are washed away so it feels like you are the only one on the trail, the smell of the freshly fallen rain, and watching the sunrise as you run—simply amazing.
Worst running experience:
Running the Frostbite 15K in NYC when it was so cold everything froze—the aid station water, nose hairs, you name it!
Neatest thing found on a run:
Animals in the wild—javelinas, moose, etc
Running pet peeves:
When bikers pass you without giving a verbal warning.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I fall asleep during 95% of movies or TV shows.
Other hobbies and interests:
Spending time with family, skiing, baking, hiking, traveling, eating good food, Pokémon Go, being active/playing sports,
