My wife, Dianna, and our two little dogs. We like to call them Chiwawa Muts. I've never taken them running with me, though they have hiked up to Barr Camp and back, so who knows!!!!
What I do for work:
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I've moved around a fair bit, but home is currently Colorado Springs!!!
I "used" the army to get me here so my wife and I could settle down. We have no plans of leaving the area.
When I started running and what got me started:
My first race was the 2006 Derby Half in Louisville, KY. My brother was training for the marathon and about half way through his training I decided I would do the half. I didn't train at all and it showed. Then, later that summer, I went to Kuwait and started doing 5K's for the shirt (It was the only motivation I could find to run in 95 degree heat at 5am to beat the heat of the day!)
When I returned to the states at the end of 2007, I was bit by the running bug, I officially got caught up in the running culture out here and started with the 2008 winter series.
What does running mean to me:
It's my great escape.

I felt great as I finished my first Marathon (the PPM). I didn't just feel mentally/emotionally great, but I also wasn't physically beat....I guess I have to push myself harder next time!
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Passing Hikers and the occasional gasps of disbelief that someone would actually run up a mountain! Nah, although that always is a nice self esteem builder, the real reason is my childhood. I always loved going hiking with my family as a kid and now that I have all these wonderful trails in my back yard, running them just brings back the memories.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
The BTMR of course!!! Besides the trail and camaraderie of all the runners...I Love how much money the race is able to consistently raise for our community. It's absolutely incredible.
