Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Frederick, MD; Colorado Springs, CO (USAFA); Cheyenne, WY; Valdosta, GA; Bettenfeld, Germany; and now Castle Rock CO - I just moved back to Colorado after an 8 year abscence and love it as much now as I did then... hope to stay here for a while.
When I started running and what got me started:
As a kid... it was fun.
What does running mean to me:
It's you against you... just as long as you always win.
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Scenery, cool air, soft footfall, and the feel of grinding up a dirt/forest/gravel hill...
Favorite running trail and why:
I ran a trail from my in-laws house along a creek to Jamestown, CO. It is not meant as a running trail, but it feels worlds removed from civilization and the peace just permeated the run...
Worst running experience:
Losing to the hotdog in the PP Ascent 2007... I was in a bad way when he passed me - altitude training is a necessity for 2008!
Running pet peeves:
myself - inevitably I do not prepare properly in terms of hydration/refuel and I want to go farther and faster but something limits me (such as dehydration).
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I really enjoy playing chess.
Other hobbies and interests:
Family/friends and other Fitness (swimming, gym, sports) related activities
Other stuff:
Running goals for 2007: 1. Run the Pike's Peak Ascent 2. Run the Philadelphia Marathon (target time 3:00)
