Oklahoma, California, Germany/Denmark, Hawaii, Kansas, Virginia, New Mexico
When I started running and what got me started:
Started in high school. Again in the military and on an Army running team while stationed in Hawaii. Started running again in 2001.
What does running mean to me:
Running is being stress/worry free....only you and the road/trail.
Running accomplishments:
La Luz Trail, IPR, Mt. Evans, attempting Leadville Trail 100
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Scenary and nature
Favorite running trail and why:
Santa Fe national forest Aspen Vista trail. Scenary and altitude, highest 12,100.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
The Imogene Pass Run and the view at the top.
Best running experience:
Finishing my first marathon, Maui marathon ('81)
Worst running experience:
My first marathon after only 2 months prep after my "Army buddies" who conviced me we were running daily to do the marathon. I didn't know they had done it the previous year and trained for it.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Found a 3 leaf clover one time. A gopher hole found my ankle another time, OUCH!
Running pet peeves:
Runners cutting right in front.
Other hobbies and interests:
My dog's Monty and Portia (Princess)
