What I do for work:
I'm a Realtor at Muldoon Associates here in town. We're a family-owned local company that's been in business over 40 years. And we're close to Palmer Park, so I get to do a lot of running at the end of the work day!
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Grew up in the tiny town of Beloit, KS and spent 2005-2014 in Northwest Arkansas.
I like Colorado Springs because of the weather (low humidity) and all the outdoor activities!
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in January of 2010 because a friend talked me into a half marathon. Crazy considering I'd never ran more than 2 miles in my life. But I had just been to the doctor and found out I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and was overweight at age 23. I always say that this friend saved my life because once I started running, everything went back to completely healthy levels.
What does running mean to me:
Running means getting out and enjoying nature and my surroundings. Always trying to run faster, farther, or both!

One marathon so far--the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon
Completed my first Ascent in 2016
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Smelling the pine trees and being away from all the traffic and city noises.
Favorite running trail and why:
Barr Trail is one because I love the history and all the places you can explore on Pikes. Also really enjoy running Palmer Park as it's very close to my office.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
The Ascent because it's just such an accomplishment. There's so much more strategy in this race than I've ever experienced in another race.
Best running experience:
Finally finding the right balance for nutrition on long runs while marathon training. Made me feel like I could run forever.
Worst running experience:
Multiple times where there's no bathroom in sight!
Neatest thing found on a run:
My wife thinks I'm lame, but I've found a trailer hitch, screwdrivers, pliers, construction hard hats.
Running pet peeves:
Getting stuck behind walkers at the beginning of a race when they're clearly supposed to line up at the back of the field.
Other hobbies and interests:
Mountain and road biking, hiking, drumming, woodworking, landscaping
