What I do for work:
Consulting: applied economics; real estate development feasibility, market analysis, finance structuring, deal-making; fiscal and economic impact analysis; public policy analysis; specialized decision-making research.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Providence, RI. Colorado Springs, CO. The Pikes Peak region has the best, and the most, proper running trails in the nation - amongst many reasons. (Though I shall always be a proud Rhode Islander).
When I started running and what got me started:
I resolved to join the track team in 7th grade after a lung infection which came close to offing me and weeks in the hospital. I've been running ever since, with a 4-year interlude during college when I was on the cycling team.
What does running mean to me:
It means I'm alive, that my brain is an avid consumer of atmospheric oxygen, and that I shouldn't take myself too seriously.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The smell of wet pine trees. The crunch of new snow underfoot. The taste of Rocky Mountain fog.
Favorite running trail and why:
Long out-and-backs on the non-motorized portion of Gold Camp Road. The why is because it's always cathartic, although I don't know the how to that why.
Best running experience:
Breaking the first footsteps on a trail after a fresh snow.
Running pet peeves:
Those who conflate training workouts with actual races, and those who conflate actual races with training workouts.
