Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
New York, Connecticut, Colorado, California. Chose Manitou Springs because of the people, the Incline, and Pikes Peak.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running at about 30 since I was hearing lots of older people saying "if I had known I would live this long I would have taken better care of myself". I didn't want to be one of them. Became obsessed.
What does running mean to me:
Getting outdoors, exercising, destressing, getting some time alone.
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Pikes Peak Marathon, Falcon 50, many other marathons and four Ironmans
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I love being on a trail in nature, and mountain running suits me more than flat running.
Favorite running trail and why:
Intemann trail because I can make so many runs from my front door. Especially like it when I can connect it to the Incline and Barr trails for a long workout or end up on top of Pikes Peak
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Falcon 50, my first ultra, did it with my son who was a cadet at the time, and fantastic support from the volunteers
Best running experience:
Falcon 50
Running related bathroom stop story:
Training run near Laguna Mountain in San Diego county. With no choice I found the ideal spot with privacy (just off a well traveled trail), suitable rock formations, and a great view. And I had brought wipes.
Other hobbies and interests:
Sailing, motorcycles, bicycling, skiing
