What I do for work:
I am Prior Military 2012-2016 and now I am a full-time student at University of Colorado Colorado Springs 2016-2019.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I grew up in Los Angeles, CA and had the opportunity to travel to Germany/DC for 4 years. Now, living in Colorado Springs is the best place I've been so far. I love it here!
When I started running and what got me started:
I ran cross country my senior year of high school and from there my passion for running grew.
What does running mean to me:
Running gives me direction and a challenge every time. My mind, body , and soul is challenged every time put the running shoes on and I know it's a blessing to be able to run.
Representing Fort Derrick at the Army Ten Miler in 2015 was a huge running accomplishment for me. I qualified for the team with the second best 10 mile time. I ran the Army Ten Miler with a PR time 01:02:35 seconds. I really enjoyed that experience.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Trails give me a different aspect of running and adventure. I love mountains and being able to see things that you just can't see from your vehicle.
Favorite running trail and why:
I don't have much to go off of since I just moved here but so far I've really enjoyed running the trails at Ute Valley Park near where I live.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I've never done a trail race yet. Currently training for the 50 mile San Francisco North Face in December!
Best running experience:
2015 Army Ten Miler and the 2016 Los Angeles Marathon were my best experiences thus far.
Worst running experience:
The 2015 Marine Corps Marathon was probably my worst running performance to date. It was 2 weeks after the Army Ten Miler and my body just gave out after mile 20. I plan to go back this year in 2016 to redeem myself!
