What I do for work:
Real estate investor. I buy run-down houses, fix 'em up, then sell 'em.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Little Rock AR, Dayton OH, Fairbanks AK, Redlands CA, Colorado Springs CO, Westminster CO, Fort Collins CO, Glendale CO, Aurora CO, Denver CO, N Las Vegas NV, Pueblo CO and Colorado Springs (again).
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in high school, taking after my older siblings. Later, I got into cycling and then triathlons.
What does running mean to me:
I love the challenges. I don't understand how people can "run for fun." To me it's about pushing myself to the limit, always trying to go farther and faster. The more difficult the course, the better. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Competed at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, 1998.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I love running up hills. I don't really like running back down. It just seems to be an exercise in not falling down.
Worst running experience:
Running been very, very good to me. I'll write about my worst cycling experience:
In September, 1999 I moved to N Las Vegas because I thought the warm winters would be good for my training. I was doing well in triathlons, and I figured that since I wouldn't have to deal with the snow, I could train harder and move up to the next level, possibly competing as a pro. Three days after I arrived I was hit by a car while cycling. At least, that's what I was told. I have no memory of the incident. What I do remember is waking up in the hospital four days later with casts on both arms and staples in the side of my head. The doctors told my mother that I had suffered a severe brain injury and would probably be confined to a wheelchair the rest of my life with limited intelligence. I attribute my recovery to the fact that I don't really use my brain much anyway.
Running pet peeves:
Why are most races just glorified T-shirt sales? My favorite race is a weekly 2.5 mile "fun run" I used to compete in when I lived in CA. There were no entry fees, no T-shirts, no cheap plastic trophies, and no post-race refreshments. Just the best runners in town out for a 12 minute hammer fest. If you couldn't run under 5 minutes/mile, you got left in the dust. That's what I call racing!
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I'm not wearing any underwear.
Other hobbies and interests:
Wakeboarding, reading, classical music
