Age: 46.3 years old
Marital Status: Married
Family members:
Wife Jenni, two sons, and two dogs
What I do for work:
Commercial Lender
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
South Florida until 21, then to Colorado Springs
When I started running and what got me started:
When I met my wife in approx. 2000. Started hiking 14'ers and transitioned to running them...ok, maybe fast hiking them.
What does running mean to me:
Accomplishment And chasing my wife
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
9 time pikes peak ascent finisher. 5 time pikes peak marathon. All 5 marathons as doubler. Top 5 in age group for marathon. 2007 Leadville 100 Finisher - 26 hours, 36 minutes 2009 Panama City Ironman Finisher - 11 hours, 9 minutes
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The unknowns ... the same trail changes all the time given weather, etc.
Favorite running trail and why:
barr trail and the incline ( i know the incline is controversial, it's just so fun finishing at 6:45am on a week day morning and being above the city before people are even awake...not too mention the price you have to pay to get up there!)
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
pikes peak marathon...especially after doing the ascent the day before. there is no greater feeling than having summited pikes peak two days in a row and turning around at the summit on day two and just screaming down the mountain. other racers are so good about getting out of the way and the rush of falling or not falling (i normally fall)...nothing like it
Best running experience:
one of the pikes peak marathon races
Neatest thing found on a run:
8 bighorn rams on a ridge in garden of the gods with a snow capped pikes peak behind them...unbelievable sight
Running related bathroom stop story:
unfortunately, too many too count
Running pet peeves:
people who whine about dogs on the trail. there are certainly dogs on the trail that do not belong there, just like some people shouldn't be. people just seem to use dogs as a scape goat sometimes. more people out of their element get in my way or even worse, people who just aren't considerate, than any dogs.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
i used to have really long hair
Other hobbies and interests:
any/every traditional sport
