Age: 52.8 years old

Family members:
3 Girls, Ages 18, 15, 13,
Three dogs, one cat, it's always some form of chaos at my house

What I do for work:
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Illinois(birth state)
Texas(32 years)
Colorado(now and forever, amen.)I love the mountains, and the running trails here. And the people are awesome!

When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in March of 2007, to lose weight. Starting weight in March 07-- 178 lbs. As of Oct 10 2008, 150 lbs. Still counting! It's those damn Hostess cupcakes. LOL! No not really.

What does running mean to me:
it's just plain fun!!!

Running accomplishments:
Started running in March '07 @ a pace of approx 17 min miles and ran the Garden of the Gods 5 miler @ a pace of 12:38. I just completed my 3rd 1/2 marathon in the Rocky Mtn. 1/2 marathon in Denver with an 11:38 pace. Yeah me!And the best part is my 12 yr old daughter ran the Women's 8K and won 3rd place in her age category! Another runner is born! LOL!

What I like about trail/mountain running:
The fantastic views and it's easier on my legs! Road running is pure torture!! But the glucosamine/chrondroitin sure helps

Favorite running trail and why:
The pikes peak greenway trail. It's flat.

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pony Express. Because it kicks ass! :)

Best running experience:
Just ran the Schriever Air Force Base 1/2 M. Time was 2:28!! Huge improvement for me. 2007 I ran the Schriever in 2:48. but I did have a stress fracture in my foot at the time. I think my best running experiences have been my 1/2 marathons. I really enjoy them. The rocky mountain half marathon is still one of my favorite experiences tho, because my daughter's accomplishment that day tops it all!Her second run ever, she ran the Women's 8K and took 3rd place in the age div. She is so excited about running now. She ran track again this year and ran her mile in 7:38. She is a great athlete. Back to the subject, the 5 mile in the Garden, because it was my very first run.

Worst running experience:
Sometimes all this training for the Denver Marathon gets tiring. But I keep on keepin on! It's almost here!! I will be so glad to have the Denver M finished. I didnt get my bid for a ballot in the London Flora Marathon, but that's ok. I have plenty of running I can do on this side of the Atlantic!

Neatest thing found on a run:
$20 bill

Running pet peeves:
runners who run and pass you like 45 times before end of a run. Just get a pace and keep it.

Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
Are you kidding? I'm like an open book! ok, I am a closet Hostess cupcake freak.

Other hobbies and interests:
THE INCLINE! Is there anything better in the world? Do the incline as often as possible. It's great! Kids, internet, I do like to bake when I get the chance. And I love to camp. The backcountry the better. But watch out for those gas lanterns, man, they will scorch your skin!

Other stuff:
I love pasta and vegetables, fettucine alfredo is my fave, I like to watch movies, but have a hard time suspending reality enough for most action movies, but I still like watching them; Starbucks coffee, the Blue Star restaurant, oysters on the half shell, and pizza are just some of my faves! I also love to stroll in Garden of the Gods and take in the amazement of it all. Love to all my friends, thanks for all your love and amazing support!
