Age: 66.6 years old

Marital Status: Married

Family members:
Married to Tony
Daughter Isabelle, 27 y
Sons - Carl, 25 and Daniel, 18
Son-in-law - Bill - I'm not sure how old Bill is! I better find out!

What I do for work:
OR at Memorial Hospital

Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Southern California. Love the proximity of the mountains, like the seasonal changes, like the microbrewed beer.

When I started running and what got me started:
ran in high school. Always prefered long-distance as opposed to sprinting. Entered first marathon with a friend when my husband was out-of-town in college to keep me busy while waiting for him to finish school.

What does running mean to me:
A way to stay in shape, physically and mentally. A great way to enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy planning out-of-town marathons with friend and family - we get to spend time together and do something healthy - then have a great after-marathon celebration.

Running accomplishments: View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Have completed the LA Marathon in 2002 and 2004, Pikes Peak Ascent 2002, 2003, Pikes Peak Marathon 2005. Finished 2006 Marathon aprox 15 mins after 10 hr cutoff - had not trained near enough. Would like to train with Incline Club to see what I could really accomplish if I trained seriously.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
Being in the mountains and feeling a sense of fitness gain when my times get better and the going gets a little easier.

Favorite running trail and why:
Barr Trail - it makes you work hard and gives you such beauty while you are working.

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Barr Trail Mountain Race. I like the aid stations (they're always fun). I like that the entry fees go to support local h.s. althetic depts. Have not finished under 3:30 yet (have tried twice). I hope next year will be the year - I have to train hard and make it happen.

Best running experience:
LA Marathon with my son Daniel in 2004

Worst running experience:
LA Marathon in 2000 - pouring, pouring, pouring rain! Injured my knee and could not finish the race.

Neatest thing found on a run:
a broken umbrella in the LA Marathon 2000 - my friend and I went back for it to keep from being washed away!

Running related bathroom stop story:
While doing LA Marathon with friends in 2002, one of my friends had to stop at every port-a-pottie along the route! We were ready to buy her some depends before the end of the race - there are long lines at the port-a-potties in the LA Marathon. But we all stayed together as that was the plan for the day. Don't even remember our finish time but I remember having a great day with my friends.

Running pet peeves:
People throwing trash on the trail (when not in a race) or off the trail or far from an aid station during a race.

Other hobbies and interests:
skiing, sewing, fishing, going to Kimball's with my husband, spending time with my children.

Other stuff:
Goal - Get a Barr Trail Mountain Race finisher's T-shirt!
