What I do for work:
I'm an equipment engineer in the R&D department of a fitness equipment manufacturer.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
West Texas, Portland, Albuquerque, Scottsdale and a few other places. I've lived in Colorado Springs for a total of 9 years and like it the best due to the mountain trails.
When I started running and what got me started:
I've been running since junior high school, but started trail running when I first lived in Colorado Springs in 1984.
What does running mean to me:
Running keeps me sane. Without running I would have gone postal long ago.
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
I completed my first 100, Javelina Jundred in 10/04. I've completed a total of 20 ultras.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I like trail running because of the variety and it's a lot easier on the body than pounding pavement.
Favorite running trail and why:
Barr Trail on Pikes Peak and La Luz in Albuquerque. Both are great trails.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I like the Pikes Peak races because I know so many of the runners.
Best running experience:
Leaving hikers in the dust. :-)
Worst running experience:
Foot injury during the 2001 Pikes Peak Marathon causing 6 months down time.
Neatest thing found on a run:
New friends.
Running related bathroom stop story:
Can't think of any.
Running pet peeves:
Trash on the trail and mean dogs.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
Hmmm. I'll think about that...
Other hobbies and interests:
News junkie and voracious reader.
