Sadly, I no longer have Squeeza and I miss her very much. She died one or two months ago from her stomach turning over.
What I do for work:
Nothing my mother is still sponsoring me;)
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
South Africa was my home.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running when I was 13 and my mother got me started.
What does running mean to me:
It's relaxing and a way to get away from the stresses of the world.
Came 10th in Black forest school run. Made the Varsity team for the fourth year in Cross Country. Finished the Triple Crown Series twice! :)
What I like about trail/mountain running:
As I have said before it is quite peaceful and relaxes the body and soul. I must admit it is a vast improvement to running next to cars, and breathing in exhaust.
Favorite running trail and why:
I like Barr Trail now, even though my first time on it, I fell. (Now I have a battle wound to show off :)) It's a nice trail with beautiful views of the city.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Summer Roundup because the trail was very smooth and not quite as lethal as Barr Trail ;).
Best running experience:
Finishing the 50th Ascent and warming up after being pelted by hail and some rain, my mother was crying when she saw me and immediatly took me into the shop to get warmer clothes on.
Worst running experience:
I was running down Barr Trail at a moderatly fast pace. Of course, I wasn't watching where I stepped and looked up for just to long. A tree root snagged the tip of my foot and I fell hard. All I could remember was seeing the ground coming closer and my hands falling in front of me. As I skidded over the lose dirt a boulder moved past my head and I stopped. When I got up I was dazed and my tights were torn at the knees. The knee started bleeding and I half limped half ran (slowly) the rest of the way down. When I went to wash up I found scratches everywhere.. down the side of my leg, on my knees, my shoulders and back, and finally on my hands.
Neatest thing found on a run:
A piece of Mica. It was everywhere! Someone had stepped on it and pieces of it broke off and the sun sent little bright lights everywhere.
Running pet peeves:
Tree roots that seemingly come from nowhere:)
Other hobbies and interests:
Wolves and horses they're my favorite animals. :) Reading, writing and dancing happen to be among my favorite things to do.
Working hard to get faster and stronger. I like some fantasy books and books about wolves. I also love Italian food and Chipotle!
