When I started running and what got me started:
In orchestra, I watched a video about a major symphony orchestra. One of the wind players said he ran marathon to help him with his air support as a brass musician. I thought it was fascinating and started running myself.
What does running mean to me:
I've completed a few half marathons and just registered for my first PPA!
Best running experience:
I love the community aspects of running.
Worst running experience:
Bilateral tibial stress fractures. Enough said.
Running related bathroom stop story:
In my first (and only!) sprint triathlon, I had urgent bathroom call during the bike ride. It was so bad that I thought I was going to have to drop out of the race, until a volunteer directed me to the pit toilets. After a very violent bathroom break, I hopped back on my bike and completed the event. I was middle of the pack for both the swim and run, and near dead last for the bike ride. Still need to redeem that race with another triathlon!
Running pet peeves:
Slow cadences, especially on downhills
Other hobbies and interests:
Hiking, cooking good food, audiobooks, crocheting, home improvement projects, etc.
