Internet marketing business
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Southern California (LA). I fell in love with the Pikes Peak region on a land buying trip 10 years ago.
When I started running and what got me started:
Started in grade school and competed at the college level. I was talked out of football and ran cross country instead.
What does running mean to me:
The most consistent thing in my life! It's a passion that has been rekindled with running on Pikes Peak.
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Various records during high school and college. Recently finished my first Ascent race. What a Blast!!
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The view, the beauty, the quietness. The ability to reconnect with what's important to me.
Favorite running trail and why:
Williams Canyon in the winter. The contrast with the cliffs and the white snow.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
The Ascent of course! It was fun working up to it and required me to focus on what I can do pretty well.
Best running experience:
Doubling in 2005 (PPA/PPM) That I can look back on and call an accomplishment
Worst running experience:
Running in a college cross country race in San Diego. The weather went real south (cold, rainy, and windy). All of us didn't do well even though we were favored to win. #2: While running in LA from Dodger stadium back to the college, we ran along the LA river. We found ourselves in the middle of gang territory and were pelted with rocks and whatever else they could find to throw at us. The coach who was running with said, "This is where we need to do our speed work!!"
Running related bathroom stop story:
While stopping and doing me thing, I looked up to see a girl no more than 20 feet from me. She just waved at me as I hurriedly put things back on!!
Running pet peeves:
People who are not friendly on the trail-who don't exchange pleasentries (Good morning, etc.), people who refuse to say excuse me or on your left/right. People who think they own the trail. People who won't move over when passing. They should be spanked.
Other hobbies and interests:
Climbing, especially ice, skiing, cooking, hanging with my beautiful wife, working with Great Dane Rescue in Colorado.
