When I started running and what got me started:
I really started running in CC in high school. Im still not sure why I got into it; I hated running in track as a kid. Then College happened and I got pretty lazy. Last year I got the bug again, and have been running about 40 miles/week
What does running mean to me:
Running means destressing and letting my cares and concerns melt away. It is a chance to get out and just be at peace with myself and the road. It is an opportunity to push myself and see what my body is capable of.

no race wins or anything like that, but I landed in the top 10 in a few half marathons and 10ks last year. I have run a 40 minute 10k, and 1:30 half. I have yet to complete a full marathon (outside my weekend runs anyway)
What I like about trail/mountain running:
I love the chance to get off the road. Trail running feels so much better on my body, and the visual and feel of the runs are awesome

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pikes Peak Ascent - it beat me up, and I am bound and determined to conquer it again this year, but much faster
Worst running experience:
So far it is the last mile of the Ascent last year. I have never hit the wall like that. Runner up goes to running a marathon while quite sick and having not had anything to eat in 3 days. it turned ugly at about 1/2 way through
Running pet peeves:
slow people crowding the starting line at races
Other hobbies and interests:
I also do triathlons! looking forward to the boulder ironman 70.3 this year
This year I hope to qualify for Boston marathon. I read a lot of fiction and sci-fi stuff, and watch a lot of movies.
