Marital Status: Married

What I do for work:
A Little Unemployed at the moment.
We sold our print shop and are "in-between" jobs right now.

Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
Mesick, Michigan
Colorado - Gotta LOVE the Mountain Runnin' here!

When I started running and what got me started:
Fall 1976 - My older brother had run Cross Country in High School so I joined the "Mesick Bulldogs" High School Cross-Country Team. There happened to be a girl on the team named Teresa Hermatz. I chased her for awhile, then she chased me. We're still at it !!!

What does running mean to me:
Psychological Fitness.
It helps me prepare for, and deal with, most of life's little (sometimes big) challenges.

Running accomplishments: View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to keep running over the years. And, I hope to keep on going.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
The beauty that lies around the next corner, the next hill, and the next trail. It is always changing and never gets old.

Favorite running trail and why:
Obviously, Colorado trails take the cake.
Outside of Colorado - The Manistee River Trail, Wexford County Michigan. I came upon this newly built trail in the summer of 2003. It was stunning!

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Leadville 100. I definately have a love/hate relationship with this race. I don't want to tell you how many times I have said I would "never run this $#@!@#$ race again!"
And now I list it as my favorite...go figure.

Best running experience:
Whenever I run a race and have crew / pacers there to help ME finish. That is a mind blowing experience! They put so much into MY race that it becomes THEIR race as well.

Worst running experience:
Having a running related injury...YUK.

Neatest thing found on a run:

Running pet peeves:
Dirt Bikes, Four-Wheelers.

Other hobbies and interests:
Cruising anywhere in our '85 Volkswagen Camper Van.

Other stuff:
Running - The BEST sport:
You can do it for the rest of your life, no team required.
No matter your ability, you will toe the line with elite athletes, same course, same obstacles, no breaks.
Male and Female also train and compete together.
