Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
NJ, upstate NY (middle of nowhere), northern CA (middle of farmland, no hills for 20+ miles), CO, Tampa (ack flat again!), Calgary, and finally back to CO! Loooooved Calgary and its proximity to beautiful+ empty trails, but CO is obviously pretty awesome as well
When I started running and what got me started:
In college I started running in order to train for a New Year's Eve 5k in Central Park, NYC.
What does running mean to me:
It means I get to eat a lot more chocolate.

Dropping more than an hour from my road marathon and PPA times from my first one in 2005/6 to the next time I did them, in 2014. Excited to have done my first 50milers in 2016 and 100km in 2017, next up in 2018 is one more try at the 100k where I hope to not spend the last 2 hrs unable to catch my breath!
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Permission to walk :D and the soft surface means things hurt less!
Favorite running trail and why:
from Sunshine Mtn Resort to Assiniboine currently stands out in my head for freakin unbelievable beautiful views b/c it was one of my more recent Canadian adventures. But really just about every mtn I climbed in Alberta and BC was heartstopping-ly gorgeous.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Elk Mtn Race in Fernie, BC. Anything at Canmore Nordic Ctr. Imogene Trail Race. Crested Butte Ultra. Everything with views that are so distracting that I don't even care about how tired I am, is a race I will always remember
Other hobbies and interests:
Rock climbing. Biking. Sleeping. Eating chocolate after any of the above.
