Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
NJ, upstate NY (middle of nowhere), northern CA (middle of farmland, no hills for 20+ miles) and now finally CO- it should be obvious!

When I started running and what got me started:
In college I started running in order to train for a New Year's Eve 5k in Central Park, NYC.

What does running mean to me:
It means I get to eat a lot more chocolate.

While I'm proud of my first (hopefully not only) Ascent completion in 2007, I didn't train nearly as hard/often as I should have. At the moment I'm most proud of my one marathon, the Flying Pig in Cincinnatti, because I found and stuck with a training program, doing all of my long runs on my own (on totally flat paths since that's all that was there) and finishing in a time close to what running calculators predicted from my 1/2 marathon time- so I pretty much did the best I could :)

What I like about trail/mountain running:
Always beautiful. And the farthest thing you can get from running in NJ.

Favorite running trail and why:
Each one I've done so far in CO I've loved. But the one trail race I did before leaving California, somewhere near Marin on the coast, was my favorite because of the ocean views (plus close to sea level so much easier!).

Best running experience:
Flying Pig Marathon 2005- perfect number of people entered, so that once the 1/2 marathon people split off, there was still lots of 'company' around. It was also the first time I ran more than 21 miles, so those last 5 miles were just pure excitement/ adrenaline :)

Worst running experience:
Any run I do after I've eaten lunch is not a fun experience...

Running pet peeves:
People wearing headphones during races- why bother entering a race if you're trying to tune things out?

Other hobbies and interests:
Rock climbing. Biking. Sleeping. Eating chocolate after any of the above.

Other stuff:
Cereal is not enough fuel for 2 hour long runs. Plain gu rocks.
