Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I've lived in Cypress, Tx and Denver for most of my life. I love Denver because I feel like every day I wake up, I am walking into a place that people dream of even visiting because of the amazing mountains that grace our beautiful state.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in 2003, and for a very long time only did it to train for mountaineering. However, when I decided to register for the Pikes Peak Ascent, my relationship to running changed forever. As I ran more, I fell in love with it more and more until the day I ran the Pikes Peak Ascent in 2010. Even though I struggled with dehydration and nutrition during my only Ascent run, it taught me a lot of important lessons about both running mountain/trail races, and myself and my ability to overcome. Since then, I have started running Ultra-marathons, which are the most amazing races I have ever been a part of.
What does running mean to me:
Running has become almost a religious experience for me. Not only is it a means to an end, running to reach a target race, but it has become an opportunity to show myself how amazing life is and that I can do anything I put my mind to no matter how hard it may be.

I have completed some races that I am particularly proud of:
Fruita 25 mile trail race
Mt. Evan's Ascent 2011 (completed despite 50mph winds above treeline)
Bear Chase 50 mile
and I have paced runners in 2 separate 100 mile races for more than 26 miles during each race, one of which was LT100.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
It feels like I am free when I am running trails, moving through some of the most beautiful places in our country, trying to be at one with the trail, the mountain, and myself.
Favorite running trail and why:
Deer Creek Canyon Park Trails - it combines lots of elevation gain and loss, technical but fast trails, and amazing views the whole time
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Bear Chase 50, its very well supported, and its my first 50 mile race.
Best running experience:
The Bear Chase 50 2011
Worst running experience:
Fruita Trail 25. I became horribly dehydrated, and almost had to completely drop.
Running related bathroom stop story:
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I am in 2 industrial bands and one electronic dance project...
Other hobbies and interests:
Music, running and mountaineering. My life is pretty much music, running, and mountaineering.
My biggest goals are to finish my first 100 mile trail race in February of 2012 (Rocky Raccoon) and then go on to the Leadville 100 in August 2012!!!!
