Too much- I am food service director for Memorial Hospital.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
I am from Michigan. Colorado is a lot like Michigan. Snow brought me to CO.
When I started running and what got me started:
1983-somebody said I was not fit and I decided to prove them wrong
What does running mean to me:
freedom and solitude
Running accomplishments:
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Mostly triathlons--numerous--too many in fact. I ruptured my Achilles tendon in 1998. The fact that I am even out here doing this at any level, is very gratifying.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Much more interesting. Can work hard without being very fast.
Favorite running trail and why:
Palmer Park Trails. They are close to my home. Fox run park--cool and peaceful.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Have only done the Ascent. It is close to home, but seems worlds away.
Running related bathroom stop story:
I really miss the cornfields in Ohio. By July, you had a nice private privy.
Running pet peeves:
Dog poop on the trail. Why can't these people believe the signs and waste stations are for them!?
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I once held the 50 yard breast stroke record for my age group in the state of Ohio. I only held it for a week..:-(
Other hobbies and interests:
Cross country and telemark skiing, rock climbing, hiking. Enjoy home improvement. Best of all, my road bike.
Other stuff:
I enter the Ascent just to finish and not suffer too much. It keeps me motivated during the summer. If not for recurring injuries, I would love to be more competitive.
