What I do for work:
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Colorado Springs...I'm a native. It's great to live in such a beautiful area with awesome trail running all around.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running rougly eight years ago after several years of mountainbiking. Growing up I ran playing soccer and now I run to stay in shape so that when my children get older I can stay active with them.
What does running mean to me:
Its a great escape to hit the trail and cleanse the mind and body of the every day hassels that we all experience.
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
Ascent 2000, 2001,PP Marathon 2005, Pikes Peak Double 2006 and 2007. Also, in 2008 I had the honor of pacing Stephanie Jones for the last 50 miles of the Leadville 100. What an awesome experience to have run this with such a classy lady!
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Around every bend there is something new. After you tun around, the trail looks totally different enven though you just been there. The mental and physical therapy is wonderful and it's a great escape from the stresses of the city.
Favorite running trail and why:
Barr Trail and the trails adjoining to it. The beautiy is unmatched and they are close. A combination that is hard to beat!
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Anything on Barr Trail. The mountain is so beautiful and it challenges me.
Best running experience:
06 PPA and PPM. I finished the "Double" and I did better than I thought I would.
Worst running experience:
2001 Barr Trail race. The day before the race it was extremly hot and I was installing sprinklers in my yard. Anyway, I let myself get dehydrated badly and I suffered for it.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Five Bighorn Sheep Rams that crossed the Barr Trail in front of me a mile and a half from the summit.
Running pet peeves:
When I pass a runner or hiker I usually always say "Hi" or "Goodmorning" It is amazing how many people don't say a thing back. Why don't they just stay at home?
Other hobbies and interests:
Playing with my children, X-terra triathalons, camping, hunting, anything outdoors.
