When I started running and what got me started:
Sometime in high school because my father started running and I wanted to see how far I could run
What does running mean to me:

Running a 30:09 8K; Breaking 19 minutes for 5K; Running 6:30 pace for a half marathon. Organizing the first US Women's Mountain Running Team in '95 and seeing the team as back-to-back gold medalists in '06 and '07.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
challenge and terrain
Favorite running trail and why:
Always finding a new trail somewhere. Many favorites.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Any race that I finish and feel challenged. I especially liked races I have run in Canada, New Zealand, and Europe.
Worst running experience:
Rotating my cuboid bone (foot) in '93 during the Kendall Mountain Race. Never been the same since despite orthotics and massage.
Running pet peeves:
Men who speed up, pass me, then park it on the trail so I can't get around them.
Other hobbies and interests:
horseback riding, travel, reading, photography, cycling
Other stuff:
To be injury free and stay that way.
