Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Heck, I've lived in Morgantown, WV (GO MOUNTAINEERS!), N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Tampa, Miami, Atlanta, Tempe, San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Bloomington, IN, and now Colorado Springs. I love being so close to the mountains and having trail running and mountain biking just minutes away. I fell in love with CS the first day I visited.
When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in high school. I began running because my high school basketball coach said "Isaack, start running or I'm going to whip you!" I began running immediately. :) Sometimes the memory of that coach still keeps me running.
What does running mean to me:
Running is another form of therapy. And God knows I need a lot of therapy. Plus, the price is right.
I am strictly a middle-of-the-pack runner. I've competed in many 5ks, 10ks, a couple half marathons, and a marathon.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Mountain running and trail running are new to me. I never trail/mountain ran before moving to Colorado Springs during the summer of 2007. It is such a kick to run with the views and snow and saying "hi" to people on the trails.
Favorite running trail and why:
Waldo Loop. This is the trail that I lost my trail running virginity on. My favorite direction is to take the loop counter clockwise.
Other hobbies and interests:
Mountain and road biking, swimming, and reading.
My favorite books are The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. My favorite author is Pat Conroy. I can live on nothing but chocolate and water for weeks.
