I run for freedom and the American way of life
City: Colorado Springs State: Co
Favorite Shoe: The Beast! Size: 9.5
Age: 36 years old
Marital Status: Happily Married!
Just me and my wonderful wife!
What I do for work:
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Tacoma, Washington is my home. It always will be. But so far I have loved it here in Colorado.
When I started running and what got me started:
I have been running since youth, but I have run more since the military. I really though would love to run a marathon some time or a 12 min 2 mile run.
What does running mean to me:
I love it! I don't know why. I feel it clears my thoughts and makes my body feel wonderful. Running to me is the reason why God gave us legs.
I ran the "Sound of the Narrows" race when I was 16. I just got up one day, no stretching no nothing and with a beat up pair of sneakers. It was approximately 7 miles maybe a little more. It was not a smart way to run on my part (I walked like a duck the following morning), but it was a blast!
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The scenery. It is so beautiful. With running I feel I get a real opportunity to take in the beauty of the land.
Favorite running trail and why:
Hmm...that's a tough one. When I was little, about 5 years old, there was a trail behind my house through the woods and I would run "the loop" all the time just for fun. Those were good times.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Nope, I've never done it. But man I would love the challenge.
Best running experience:
Running with my wife. Anytime I get to run with her is my favorite time.
Worst running experience:
Probably having to run a PT test when I was horribly sick and still run a 1330 2 mile. That was a rough and awful day.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Hmm...I'll have to think about that one.
Running related bathroom stop story:
None so far...
Running pet peeves:
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I am trilingual.
Other hobbies and interests:
I love education, educational theory, and teaching. I love the bible and I love linguistics. Life is just good. There are so many things to do. Really the list is endless.
I would love to run a 12 min 2 mile. And I would love to run a race with my wife.
