Family members:
1 very tall boyfriend

What I do for work:
Editing publications for a contractor. Former journalist.

Places I’ve called home and why I like where I am now:
New Jersey, Georgia, and North Carolina. Love Colorado. Two words: CLIMATE. MOUNTAINS.

When I started running and what got me started:
In February 2009 a few friends encouraged me to train for a half-marathon with them, so I signed up. Along the road, something in my brain broke, and I've been hooked ever since.

What does running mean to me:
It's a way for me to push myself. It's liberating, especially trail running.

Running accomplishments: View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
2010: Pikes Peak Ascent.
2011: Colorado Marathon (my first), Imogene Pass Run (also my first)

What I like about trail/mountain running:
Pretty much everything.

Favorite running trail and why:
I love the Garden at sunrise. Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Stratton Open Space. Section 16.

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Imogene Pass Run, aka going from Ouray to Telluride the hard way. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful course or a better-run race. I want to do this one every year!

Worst running experience:
2011 Colorado Marathon. Plagued by a head cold, training disrupted by injury, and serious GI issues. Had my first calf spasms. Not fun.

Neatest thing found on a run:
A spare Yak Trak.

Running pet peeves:
Unleashed dogs! And the constant one-upmanship is annoying sometimes.

Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I studied Japanese in college.

Other hobbies and interests:
Yoga and cooking. Eat to run, run to eat.
