Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
grew up in N.J., lived in Georgia for 7 years, and then moved to CO 2 yrs ago. I love the climate in CO and the opportunity to do so many outdoor activities with friends and family.
When I started running and what got me started:
started running short distances as a teenager, increased distance after my second child-it became my free time to myself on the weekends while my husband watched the kids.
What does running mean to me:
running is a very mental/emotional activity for me-the days I do not run I tend to be grumpy. The days I do run I tend to feed off that energy for the rest of the day.

have run a couple of marathons and a bunch of shorter races. Staying injury-free for the past year has been an accomplishment for me after fx my tibia last year.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
the peacefulness and the beauty; also less stress on the joints!
Favorite running trail and why:
just started doing trails in Co so do not have a favorite here yet.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I have not done any trail races yet in Co. I did run several trail races in GA-my favorite was a 10 mile obstacle race, with 5 different challenges in the race. I was covered in dirt by the end and sore for a week but loved it!
Best running experience:
Bermuda marathon-started out with srtong winds and torrential downpour but by the second half the wind and rain stopped, sun came out, and I was able to pick up the pace.
Worst running experience:
Chicago marathon-started out too fast and way too crowded of a race for me.
Neatest thing found on a run:
Well, maybe not exactly the neatest but my dogs were sure happy-a whole deer leg bone.
Running related bathroom stop story:
sorry-can't think of any off the top of my head
Running pet peeves:
garbage on the trails
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
love to bake (and eat) fattening, unhealthy goodies.
Other hobbies and interests:
hiking, snowshoeing, reading, watching old movies, skiing,
