Since 2008 I have lived in Pueblo West, CO and I love it. The views and trails are awesome. I feel like I can breath here, no matter what the stresses in life bring me.

When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in January 2010 my first winter in Colorado. I started just walking with a friend for some exercise. She challenged me to start running, and I have never stopped.

What does running mean to me:
Running is my stress relief. It provides me with challenges and brings excitement to my life.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
Trail and Mountain running challenges me, and it also takes my mind off of how many more miles I have left to my run, and and any current stresses in my life. I can enjoy fantastic views, and completely forget about everything else.

Favorite running trail and why:
The North Shore Trail at Pueblo Lake State Park. A good portion of the trail runs either along the base of the bluffs or along the top edge of the bluff, providing beautiful views. Also, there are two really good hills, and the terrain varies throughout the trail.

Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I have not run a trail/mountain race yet. I have hiked the Barr Trail, and I run on trails frequently, but never in a race. I am looking forward to running the Pike's Peak Ascent in 2013.

Best running experience:
Running in the San Diego Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon.

Worst running experience:
Running in the snow at the Rock Canyon Half Marathon in Dec 2011; the ground was slippery and I was afraid of falling.

Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I have a 12 year old grandson.

Other hobbies and interests:
Hiking, Zumba, Reading, Training for my first triathlon, Insanity and Crossfit

Other stuff:
My loftiest goal is to run the Pike's Peak Ascent in 2013.
I love Mexican Food and Italian Food.
My favorite movie is Jaws, which I am sure dates me.
My favorite authors are Terry Goodkind and Anne Rice.
