Favorite Shoe: La Sportiva Raja Size: 11
Age: 40.3 years old
Marital Status: Single
John and Jan- Mother and Father
Jonathan, Mary-Clare & Rowan- Brother, Sister-in-law and amazing niece!

What I do for work:
Own and operate a manufacturing company.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Colorado Springs, CO
Manitou Springs- being close to great trails, climbing, close to good friends
When I started running and what got me started:
Kinda started about 7 years ago- mostly as an excuse to show up at 5K races with a bunch of friends and go drinking afterward. For the last couple of years I have been taking things a bit more seriously... just a bit, though. Cancel that last, not seriously at all (updated).
What does running mean to me:
Seeing the most beautiful things in nature in a very natural way.
View my Pikes Peak Ascent/Marathon results
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Being in the middle of nature. Trails can transport you into a different place- away from the cities- in quick time.
Favorite running trail and why:
Williams Canyon up to Waldo. Usually very few people. Great temp year round and enough change in the grade to make it interesting.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Imogene Pass. After the tough up, you are treated to the one of the most beautiful vallley views in all of America.
Best running experience:
Everytime I feel good and hydrated on a run..
Worst running experience:
Everytime I feel like puking due to dehydration on a run..
Neatest thing found on a run:
A little bit of energy right before the end.
Running related bathroom stop story:
Just the typical- getting off trail to pee- thinking you are well hidden- only to find out half way through that you are actually in plain sight of a group of 15 female runners.
Running pet peeves:
"Fast" runners who don't pocket their trash. Barr Trail is a carpet of trash during the Ascent- it makes a usually beautiful sight very ugly.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I travel to the Black Rock Desert to enjoy an event called Burning Man every September.
Other hobbies and interests:
Working, climbing, camping, fly fishing, and skiing.
"Don't take life too seriously- you'll never get out alive" (stolen from a National Lampoon's movie).
Love comedy movies- Coneheads, Get Shorty, The Rat Race
