Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Iowa. Did you know that cow tipping is practically a sport there? I moved out here 10 years ago and I'm still loving the adventure and sunshine Colorado provides.
When I started running and what got me started:
November 2005. My friend Brett Pierce introduced the sport to me.
What does running mean to me:
It is a great way to relax, be alone with my thoughts, and enjoy the outdoors. I like the fitness benefits as well.
1:43 for my first half marathon.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Getting outdoors, getting in shape, having an adventure, and seeing great scenery.
Favorite running trail and why:
Section 16. Good scenery and parts of it are really steep.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pikes Peak Ascent.
Best running experience:
The American Discovery Trail Half Marathon.
Worst running experience:
Almost got shot by some crazy guy at the shooting range when running down the William's Canyon trail. Rednecks, guns, and country music are a bad combination.
Neatest thing found on a run:
I've met some good friends.
Running related bathroom stop story:
Okay, I drank way too much water before my first race. Mental note, don't do that.
Running pet peeves:
Loose dogs that love to bite people.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I have an ape index of 4 inches. Only a rock climber would know that I am secretly a primate in human disguise.
Other hobbies and interests:
I love physics, mathematics, rock climbing, trail running, snowboarding, reading literature, and I can appreciate good art work.
