What I do for work:
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Different military bases in Germany (on and off my whole life), Connecticut, and Kentucky. I didn't realize how much I loved Colorado until I left in 2009, there is nothing like our beautiful trails, mountains, sunshine, air, people...its just a great place and I feel lucky to live here.
When I started running and what got me started:
Well I joined CC in high school and HATED it, I actually lost a state meet for my school! I guess I must have felt guilty because I picked it up again in 2006 and haven't stopped since. 2 marathons, 1 half ironman and a few half marathons later, I'm still out there!
What does running mean to me:
It means I'm alive=)
Prague International Marathon, ADT Half and Full Marathon, Half Ironman, ( hopes of an Ascent in my near future)
What I like about trail/mountain running:
It keeps me guessing..there's never any boredom.
Favorite running trail and why:
These days I really like Red Rocks Open Space. Its not a long run but the views are pretty, and its peaceful there.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
I just did the Blue Moon Trail 10k..That was pretty cool. Always been a fan of the Fall Series runs.
Best running experience:
Finishing my half Ironman. By the time I made it to the run I was dead,..so there is no feeling like the one I felt when I went across that finish line and got the finishers medal...I was truly amazed at my own strength that day..
Worst running experience:
trying to do a fall series run after a night of wild partying...(that's a mistake I only made once)
I may not be the fastest runner out there, but I have a lot of determination, and I feel pretty confident that there is a finishers medal for me at the top of Pikes peak. Now I just need to go get it!
