Age: 51.2 years old
Marital Status: divorced
Family members:
BAXTER, the trail dog!!
What I do for work:
Army doc
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Middlebury and Stowe Vermont, Winston-Salem NC, Olympia WA and now Old Colorado City. Love it here for the neighbors, my new job (first ever as a doctor- this is my second career) and the great trails, roads and community to share them with.
When I started running and what got me started:
High school. Always ran.
What does running mean to me:
Renewal, thought time, sanctuary, meeting healthy and energetic new people.
Running accomplishments:
A few. Ask me about them when we run.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Easy on the joints, my dog's favorite activity!
Favorite running trail and why:
Seem to have one every place I go, and I've been a lot of places. Have trail run in Hong Kong and Taiwan, Austria, Italy, France and all over the US. Too many memories to bore y'all with here.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Bridle Trails 50K in Kirkland, WA. It's at NIGHT, in January, in the rain and the mud gets ankle deep after the field chews up the course over 6 laps. Still, I met the nicest people out there who shared the misery, offered tips and encouragement and I ran it with my closest friend in the Army so I will always remember the event.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
Designed snowboarding equipment before becoming a military doctor.
