What I do for work:
Horse training clinician - teach people how to work with their horses to reach their goals and Build The Horse Of A Lifetime (name of my program).
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Fairfield, Iowa; Ortonville, Michigan. Mountains, low humidity, not nearly as many bugs!
When I started running and what got me started:
9th grade to get in shape for basketball. My dad had started running some and that inspired me to try it.
What does running mean to me:
Challenge and sanity.

31 marathons as of January 2012. Boston Marathon 1993, 1994, 1996 and 2010. 12 marathons in 12 months, October 2009-September 2010.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
The scenery and the challenge. You also have to stay focused and not let your mind wander - at least I can't. I'm clumsy.
Favorite running trail and why:
Waldo Canyon. Great views and challenging climbs with great downhills.
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pikes Peak Marathon. Great camaraderie, great support and a huge sense of accomplishment.
Best running experience:
Disney Marathon - you can't help but smile when you come through Cinderella's Castle and see all the characters throughout the coarse.
Worst running experience:
First marathon. Of course, I swore I would never do another.
Neatest thing found on a run:
My husband!
Running pet peeves:
Seeing garbage of any kind on or just off of the trail.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I used to be a tech writer and wrote automotive service manuals.
Other hobbies and interests:
Trail riding (horses), hiking and reading.
