When I started running and what got me started:
I started running in high school-early 80's- because I had a talent for it and continued through college up to the present day.
What does running mean to me:
It is a huge part of my life personally and professionally. It is my favorite thing to do and many of my friendships and relationships have come through the sport.

What I like about trail/mountain running:
I love running in the mountains and I like the pain associated with long bouts of uphill. It seems that mountain running is easier on my body than roads-yet it makes me just as fit.
Favorite running trail and why:
Mt. Blanca-San Luis Valley. Good memories and very steep, rough terrain!
Favorite trail/mountain race and why:
Pikes Peak Ascent. Because its the only Mountain race I have ever run.
Best running experience:
A 4 hour evening run in the San Juan Wilderness with Chuck Smead back in 1992.
Worst running experience:
1987 Reebok Rocky Mountain Shootout- I finished 8th from last.
Neatest thing found on a run:
An arrowhead at the Alamosa Wildlife Refuge.
Running pet peeves:
Tons of expensive gear.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
I like to surf- but Im not very good.
