Age: 44.1 years old
Marital Status: Married
Family members:
Wonderful wife Lisa and three adventerous children--McKenna (11), Reilly (5), and Jaxon (2).
What I do for work:
Retail management.
Places Ive called home and why I like where I am now:
Idaho, Alaska, Vegas, and Arizona. I am tollerating Arizona, hoping my wife will give in to the thought of returning to the Pacific Northwest.
When I started running and what got me started:
Ran in high school mostly for social reasons. Started back up recently to keep the Grim Reaper away.
What does running mean to me:
Problem solving. It gives me time to think through my decisions made, as well as those that will help me with my goals and aspirations.
Running accomplishments:
Finished Rock n Roll Half Marathon, Jan 2005 and Mayor's Midnight Half Marathon, June 2005.
What I like about trail/mountain running:
Around here (AZ), it's the only way to make it exciting. I can't run down the street or next to a water canal because I get bored too quickly. I need some of the excitement that I used to see in Alaska.
Favorite running trail and why:
A small 1-mile loop trail by my parents' house. It had workout stations every 1/8th of a mile or so... a great workout in the morning.
Worst running experience:
Mayor's Midnight 1/2 Marathon-- hurt my knee at Mile 4 and had to limp for 9 more miles.
Running pet peeves:
Trash.
Something non running related that no one would guess about me:
Had a heart attack 2 years ago. ABSOLUTELY the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I finally realized how precious life is and decided to set out to different things that would challenge me.
Other hobbies and interests:
Golf.
Other stuff:
Soulstice Run (Flagstaff, AZ) in Oct '06, Tucson Half Marathon in Dec '06. Pike's Peak Ascent in 2007. Triathlon in 2007.
