NEXT RUN:

Sunday, Dec 30, 8:00AM — Memorial Park
Head out the Ute Pass Trail until it intersects Longs Ranch Road. Take TWO lefts and head UP Longs Ranch Road. Try to smile when you hit Poppa Bear Hill;-) Connect back into the Barr Trail at No Name Creek and run back down to Memorial Park. For a shorter run take the J Pipe trail before the top of LRR.
Sunday, Jan 6, 8:00AM — Memorial Park
Waldo/LRR double! Run the UPT and then head over and do Waldo Canyon — clockwise. Next, head up LRR and return via the Barr Trail. 3-4 hours, if it would be longer skip Waldo.

Rampart Range — Input from a Runner and Gun Enthusiast
Stephen Martin writes: This is in response to Eric Billmeyer’s comments concerning the South Rampart Shooting Range.. As a gun enthusiast myself who has used the shooting range
on many occasions I would like to suggest the following. I would suggest that we encourage the ranger service to place signage stating that shooting
is restricted to the two designated ranges, the west facing and the north facing range. These ranges properly face into hillside and are not dangerous
to hikers and runners on Williams trail.
A third range appears to have been improvised by the public which is more south facing and endangers the Williams canyon trail. (Is this the ‘shotgun range’ that Eric refers to ? ) Dunno, but I assumed that this area is not part of the range (?) and would suggest this area be cleaned up and signage placed that would close it off. North Face Endurance Challenge
