Subject: Pike Forest/Barr Trail closed
All,
I am getting a lot of e-mails asking about if the Pike Forest is being
closed due to the fire situation. Yes it is closed!!! An ICer spending the
night at Barr Camp was asked to leave and be off the trail by noon today. By
the time he got down the Barr Trail trailhead already had a sign on it
saying it was closed!
Although the site is really bogged down with traffic you can get tons of
info at http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/psicc/fire/hayman/index.htm Click on “news
releases” for information on the closures. Also KOA 850 AM has a lot of news
to listen to.
To anyone in the path of this thing our thoughts are with you!
