When I first saw the $50 Doubler fee i thought WTF? This makes no sense! When I saw the explanation I thought WTF? This makes no sense! If you were only interested in discouraging people from taking two slots you could have simply put it in writing on the entry page, big red letters,' ATTENTION! IF YOU ARE DOING BOTH RACES YOU ARE DEPRIVING...BLAHBLAHBLAHETCETC!!!" That would have certainly gotten everyone's attention. If your interest is in fining your loyal participants, since all doublers have to have run before, congratulations. That, you have accomplished. If you really want to open the race up to new participants, why not charge any peak veterans an extra fee? After all, they've done it before. Why should they take up a space that someone else might use? Somehow, taking up a spot two years in a row is very different than taking up a spot two days in a row? I understand that there are lots of expenses in putting on a race. I fail to understand that your expenses have increased over 30% in the last two years and I know that a Doublers participation doesn't increase that cost at all. The cost would't be the deciding factor in whether I signed up or not but I will certainly comment on it if I feel I'm being gouged.
